The compound that I have chosen was Hydrogen Sulfide. Its constituent elements are Hydrogen and Sulfur. These two elements are bonded by covalent bonding, since they are both non-metals. This compound form when two atoms of hydrogen share its only electron with sulfur’s 6, enabling all of them to form a stable structure, duplet structure for hydrogen and octet structure for sulfur. Also, hydrogen sulfide can be obtained via reduction by sulfate-reducing bacteria. They contain small amounts of sulfate to synthesise sulfur-containing compounds. One example is them breaking down sulfate ions and hydrogen ions to form hydrogen sulfide and water.
